PILATES FOR CHILDREN

Joseph Pilates said ‘First educate the child’. Monica is a Paediatric physiotherapist and has experience first-hand of the benefits for children and young adolescents doing Pilates. They learn to develop good postural habits, improve control of their bodies and refine their movements through development of a strong centre.

 

Monica teaches the exercises in a child friendly way using imagery, visualisation and hands on facilitation. Children and young people benefit from engaging in Pilates as it provides a foundation of strength and control to help them achieve their best in their everyday lives and physical activity. Pilates is a life skill and so a healthy posture and core strength from a young age will enhance your child’s prospects of being fit and healthy well into their adult life.
